Error codes

HTTP	Meaning
400	Invalid parameters or missing prompt
401	Missing or invalid API key
404	Unknown generation id or model
429	Rate limit or monthly allowance — rate limits
500	Upstream or platform error; retry with backoff

Content-policy failures usually appear as a failed job on status, not as HTTP 400. See content guidelines.
